DIAL-A-RIDE PLUS - RTA LIFELINE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE

Information provided by: Riverside County Office on Aging

In an effort to provide greater access to lifeline services for those who have no other transportation options, Riverside Transit Agency introduced a new pilot program, Dial-A-Ride Plus Lifeline Service. The program restricts eligible trips to lifeline services such as dialysis and chemotherapy services, doctor's appointments and trips to the grocery store and senior centers for daily hot meals to ensure everyone has access to food. The program provides trips within an additional two-mile radius (for a total of 2¾ miles) of the fixed route boundary. Passenger fares will be identical to those charged for traditional DAR service. Eligible participants must be 65 or older or must have a disability that creates a need for specialized transportation. Service will be provided using wheelchair accessible taxis, currently being utilized under the Agency's taxi overflow services contract. These trips will be coordinated using the existing DAR trip process. To check your eligibility or to schedule a ride, call 1-800-795-7887.
