Health care training planned

Jan. 14--The Alzheimer's Association will offer a free presentation titled, "Understanding Memory Loss." This presentation will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Edgewood Vista Chapel, 1104 25th St. SW, Jamestown. This presentation is free and open to health care professionals; registration is not required.

This project is supported by funding granted through the North Dakota Department of Human Services'Aging Service Division.

This is the first of a three-part series. Parts 2 and 3 will be held on March 6 and April 4.The March 6 session will be "Positive Interactions with Persons with Dementia," and April 4 will be "Sexuality and Dementia: Let's Talk About It."

This program will help attendees understand the difference between memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Participants will learn about various diseases that can cause dementia symptoms, including Alzheimer's disease, the effects of dementia on thinking and what to do if you suspect memory loss.
