Celebrate National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month with Emory Valley Center

To commemorate "National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month" (NDEAM), Emory Valley Center encourages everyone to help celebrate the theme this year, "Inclusion Works!" National Disability Employment Awareness Month is an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October.

The goal is to educate people about disability employment issues and celebrate the variety of contributions and successes that people with disabilities have in the workplace.

Emory Valley Center supports children and adults with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities through a variety of programs and services. In the 61 years since its inception, EVC has expanded its services to focus on the abilities of the people it supports.

"Emory Valley Center is proud to bring attention to this year's National Disability Employment Awareness Month", said EVC President Jennifer Enderson in a news release.

"We are celebrating the diverse abilities and contributions of the people we support who are working and living in our community and encourage others to do the same." One of the EVC programs related to employment and committed to encouraging community inclusion is Employment Services. EVC is currently supporting 28 people employed with 24 business partners in the community.
